The Tendring Farm Cluster brings together farmers, landowners and environmental partners from across the Tendring peninsula with a shared ambition: to enhance the farmed environment while maintaining productive, resilient farming businesses.
Covering a diverse landscape of arable farmland, grassland, coastal habitats and watercourses, the cluster provides a platform for members to work collectively on some of the region's key environmental challenges and opportunities. By sharing knowledge, exploring practical solutions and coordinating action across farm boundaries, the group aims to deliver greater benefits for soil health, water quality, biodiversity and climate resilience than could be achieved through individual efforts alone.
We have recently instructed Ceres Research to provide facilitation support for the cluster, helping to coordinate activities, bring together expertise and ensure that members can access the latest innovation and funding opportunities. Effective facilitation plays a vital role in turning shared aspirations into action, creating opportunities for collaboration, knowledge exchange and on-farm learning.
Through workshops, farm meetings, specialist speakers and project development support, facilitation helps members identify common priorities, learn from one another and develop practical approaches that work within commercial farming systems. It also helps connect the cluster with external organisations, partners and funding streams that can support the delivery of landscape-scale environmental outcomes.
As the cluster continues to grow, the focus remains on supporting farmers to lead positive environmental change while building profitable and resilient businesses for the future. By working together, members of the Tendring Farm Cluster are demonstrating the power of collaboration in delivering meaningful benefits for both agriculture and the wider landscape.
