Supporting Nature Recovery Through Collaboration
As the cluster continues to grow, the focus remains on supporting farmers to lead positive environmental change while building profitable and resilient businesses for the future. By working together, members of the Tendring Farm Cluster are demonstrating the power of collaboration in delivering meaningful benefits for both agriculture and the wider landscape.
Rainwater Capture Pond - Improving Water Resilience and Biodiversity
A farmyard pond creation project designed to capture and store clean rainwater running off existing farm buildings. Created within the farmyard, the pond provides a practical water management solution while also delivering valuable environmental benefits.
Tendring Hydrorecycle - ADOPT project
The “Reuse, Refresh, Regrow – Naturally filtered wastewater for local growth” project is an ADOPT project across the Tendring Farm Cluster looking at whether treated wastewater from water recycling centres could be safely reused for agricultural irrigation, rather than being discharged to sea.
Creating Habitat in the Water Meadows
This case study highlights a pond creation project at Bryher Beef / Watershed Studio, where a new pond was dug below the studio in the farm's water meadows in spring 2025. The project was developed to improve access, create a stronger freshwater habitat resource and provide a new wildlife feature within an already wet landscape, with the support of the Tendring Farm Cluster Pond Restoration Fund.
Restoring Habitat at Beaumont-cum-Moze
This case study highlights a pond restoration project led by Bill Offord at Beaumont-cum-Moze, where an old pond within a wildfowl reserve area has been brought back into active habitat management, with the support of the Tendring Farm Cluster Pond Restoration Fund.
